Pilot application of Paprika NS Code for the export to Japan

NS World applied first Ns Code to paprika

Pilot traceability system by Ns code was carried out to part of export amount of paprika from farms located at Hwasun, Jeonnam and first export was made in February 2013. By this, consumers in Japan could search production history of paprika via smart phone application and web access. While it took much time for preparation to implement traceability system to paprika in the first place, because of more than 250 survey items required by WHO, the period has been reduced gradually with accumulated know-how and system update.

Many companies producing and processing products honestly with pride on quality desire to obtain objective competitiveness by applying Ns Code, and it is expected that the applied areas would be expanded to vegetables, infant and children food, health functional food as well as water. As food safety becomes a hot issue domestically and internationally, the law requiring the application of food traceability system for infant and children food and health functional food was passed on July 2, 2013. From 2014 onward, traceability system becomes mandatory if the annual sales exceed 5 billion won. It is expected that traceability system application is accelerated as the food distribution process such as agricultural and processed products are improved in the advanced country type.
